Life is a classroom. We are both student and teacher and each day is a test, each day we receive a passing and failing grade in one particular subject: grace. Grace is compassion, gratitude, faith, forgiveness, good manners, and the list goes on. It is something money can’t buy and credentials rarely produce. Being the smartest, prettiest, most talented or the richest cannot help. Being a humble person can and being a helpful person can guide you through your days with grace and gratitude.

Dozens of beautiful, brightly colored umbrellas line a shopping promenade in Águeda—a small town located just south of Porto in Portugal. While these photogenic parasols are helpful at protecting against the sun’s rays and shielding patrons from rainfall, the colorful display is actually an art installation and initiative by the council in Águeda for AgitÁgueda, the town’s art festival!
